We all have things that happen in our lives that cause us to lose hope. It could be the loss of a loved one, going through a divorce, maybe losing a job or not getting the promotion you were anticipating. Other than the death of someone, each of these things are probably temporary events. What lessons can you learn from each of these things? Was the job loss or not getting a promotionactually opening a door to a new opportunity? Was it a form of protection from a potentially horrible situation? Maybe the divorce is to get you out of an abusive situation or to get you with someone who truly cares about you and your needs. If you take the word HOPE and turn it into an acrostic, it looks like this. “H” is for Helping others. When you shift your focus on to others, that gives you more hope. The “O” is for Opportunities. Look for new opportunities that may be opening up for you. Maybe it is a new career, or a new spouse. I’ve experience both of these in my life and I assure you, they brought me hope. The “P” is for Prayerfully Pursue. When you are confronted with hopeless circumstances, PRAY. God may be using this to teach you something that you wouldn’t learn without going through the trial. God opens new doors all the time. The letter “E” is for Enthusiasm. Live life with enthusiasm no matter what. Yes, you will have disappointments, but don’t stay stuck in that place. When you focus on being enthusiastic in your life in general, your attitude changes and you will have more HOPE. Stay focused on the future and stay HOPEFUL.
